Prepare for labor and birth with this informative class consisting of lectures, videos, discussions and exercises, all led by a trained childbirth instructor. Our goal is to provide you with information and resources to help you make informed decisions and minimize your fears prior to your baby’s birth, through labor and early postpartum. You'll also learn techniques to help you relax and cope with labor. Classes are $90 and available in a 4-part Tuesday evening class or as an all-day class held on Saturdays. Register for this class and you’ll be able to take the Newborn Parenting and Breastfeeding classes at no extra cost. All registrations include a participant and one adult partner. Many first-time parents have never cared for a newborn. Our introductory class teaches parents-to-be the basics so they are prepared and know what to expect from their newborn. Topics include: Feeding, Sleeping and Safety, Bathing and Diapering, and Holding and Swaddling. This one-time course is held on Mondays from 6:30pm-9pm. Class fee includes participant and one adult partner. Cost is $35 if not taking Childbirth Preparation.
This class will prepare you for a successful and rewarding breastfeeding experience. Topics include Latching on, How to Hold Your Baby, How Often and How Long to Feed and How to Avoid Common Problems. Coaches and partners are encouraged to attend. This one-time course is offered on Thursdays from 6:30-9pm. Class fee includes participant and one adult partner. Cost is $25 if not taking Childbirth Preparation.
Through this course you will learn adult, child and infant CPR, including how to clear an obstructed airway, and how to use an Automated External Defibrillation (AED) device. A two-year AHA certification card will be issued upon successful demonstration of skills. Pre-registration is required for each class. All classes have two-year certifications. You will receive your textbook at time of registration. Please review prior to class.
