Dr R Khan is the most excellent Dr I have known. When I know of someone that needs a pulmonary Dr I always recommend Dr Khan. He is by far most so kind , caring and knowledgeable in his field. I was very sick at one time after being out of the hospital and needed him. His nurse Adrian got me in immediately. I'm so happy I see Dr Khan.

This was my first appointment with Dr. Khan and am I wholeheartedly filled with satisfaction! He initiated his presence with a smile introduction himself followed by his students/intens. I shook all of their hands and they all had great eye contact. But what I loved the most was the fact that Dr. Khan didn't come in and put his face straight to a computer and start reading notes about what the other doctor said/thought and go straight from there. Dr. Khan sat down, looked me into my eyes, and asked me what is going on and what problems I'M HAVING! He didn't go off assumptions, he asked questions, he examined me, and we talked thoroughly. He answered ALL of my questions and concerns. I've been having problems for 3 years and NOT ALL, but a few of the doctors I've seen just didn't care. I've been having problems with my memory, breathing, not sleeping throughout the night, being tired all day, gaining weight, etc. Some doctors will look at you and just prescribe you a medication to sleep vs actually digging down deep to figure out WHY I'm waking up up throughout the night, WHY I'm snoring, WHY I'm tired all the time, etc. Dr. Khan put ME first, and I cannot express it MORE! And I love the fact that he has interns! They were VERY nice as well and I loved that they engaged and asked questions as well! I love to interact and I Dr. Khan must already be rubbing off on them...they didn't overstep Dr. Khan at all, only asked a couple questions, but when they asked, it was of general concern and curiosity. I hope that they will TOO, one day, make their patients feel like Dr. Khan made me feel today!

Still hasn't discussed my sleep study with me, but it was "so crucial" that I get it. He came unprepared to my visit, with no results from my sleep study. He said he could only get my results from his Chesapeake office (my appointment was in Moyock). He could have had them faxed or emailed in minutes! I won't be back for more unnecessary visits as I live an hour and 20 minutes away.

Bio
Dr. Khan is a board-certified and fellowship trained pulmonologist specializing in Sleep Medicine and Critical Care Medicine. He received his medial degree from Punjab Medical College in Pakistan and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Connecticut, in Farmington, Conn., where he also completed a fellowship in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. His Internal Medicine fellowship in Sleep Medicine was accomplished at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia. Dr. Khan has worked at Yale University, School of Nursing, in Orange Conn. as a Clinical Instructor, and as a hospital based Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine consultant.
