CHESAPEAKE, Va. – There are more than 6,000 hospitals in the United States and Money has ranked Chesapeake Regional Medical Center as one of the best 115. The Best Hospitals of 2024 List published on Money.com shows that Chesapeake Regional is one of only three hospitals in Hampton Roads to earn this recognition and one of only six hospitals in Virginia to make the list.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Today, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare announced that it performed its first-ever open-heart surgery this week. The successful surgery marks a momentous achievement for the hospital and the launch of its cardiac surgery program. The coronary artery bypass surgery was performed by Edward J. Coleman, MD, Medical Director of the Cardiothoracic program, along with Chesapeake Regional’s open heart surgical team.
