Leaders Gather to Commemorate Construction of New Virginia Beach Ambulatory Surgery Center
VIRGINIA BEACH – On Tuesday, Jan. 13, leaders from Urology of Virginia and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center gathered to mark the start of construction on a three-story ambulatory surgery center. The two organizations have partnered to offer patients on-site comprehensive urological and urogynecological care including minimally invasive surgeries striving to optimize the patient experience and promote quick healing.
The ambulatory surgical center will provide the latest in urological and gynecological surgery, including minimally-invasive techniques and procedures that preserve sexual function and continence.
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center will lease space within the building to equip and operate the ambulatory surgery center. The space will include one general operating room, three cystoscopy rooms and a lithotripsy room. Physicians will have the ability to offer shockwave technology for the treatment of kidney and ureter stones to prevent invasive surgical treatment and advanced therapies for pelvic floor conditions, including incontinence, pelvic prolapse, and overactive bladder and voiding dysfunction
The center is scheduled to open in early 2016.
