Chesapeake Regional Healthcare Launches COVID-19 Telehealth Program

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake Regional Healthcare today announced the launch of a new telehealth offering enabling patients with COVID-19 symptoms to speak with a health care provider to determine the next steps. The screening can be conducted from the comfort of their homes and is offered free of charge by Chesapeake Regional. 

The new service, supported by a partnership with Amwell®, provides patients of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare access to a doctor online via a smartphone, tablet or computer.

• Connect with board-certified doctors 24 hours per day, 7 days a week
• Conveniently access care through phone, tablet, or computer
• COVID-19 screening
• Free

As COVID-19 continues to spread across the country, patients are encouraged to engage with a doctor using telehealth, to help mitigate the spread of the virus. Clinicians will evaluate and recommend care for patients with COVID-like illness, including triaging higher-acuity patients to in-person care settings, however, they cannot treat severe COVID-19 symptoms or test patients remotely. 

Patients with a medical emergency, including those with severe COVID-19 symptoms, should call 911 or seek care at their nearest emergency room immediately.
