June Wellness Wednesday will be Held at First Baptist Church South Hill
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Wellness Wednesdays, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s outreach to reduce health disparities throughout the community, is held quarterly and open to both men and women. The events are designed to bring people together, share resources and help build a healthier, stronger community. The Wellness Wednesday will be held from 12-5 p.m., on Wednesday, June 1, at First Baptist Church South Hill, 3633 Galberry Rd., in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake.
Approximately 50 organizations will be represented at the upcoming event. They will provide information and resources to help community members break down barriers to better health. Those who attend will be offered A1C and cholesterol screenings, foot ulcer screenings, and eye exams. Fresh foods, books and live plants will be available to take home.
Chesapeake Regional’s 3D Mobile Mammography unit will also be onsite. To make a mammogram appointment, call 757-312-6400. Free mammograms are available to those who qualify and are provided by funds raised through The Bra-ha-ha® annual campaign.
Quarterly Wellness Wednesdays will be held throughout Chesapeake in 2022, making the opportunity convenient for neighborhoods throughout the city.
