About six weeks prior to my scheduled follow-up appointment, I used the patient portal to send an email to the provider to ask a question concerning a lingering and consistent cough I was experiencing and whether I should see the doctor sooner for diagnosis and possible treatment sooner rather than later. I never received a response to my question. I ended up just waiting until my appointment where my concerns about my cough and subsequent treatment was given at that time. I was a bit disappointed that my question was left unanswered when I expected to receive some sort of response within 24-48 hours of my communication.

I don't feel like an invisible senior with Dr Butler like I have with other physicians in the past. Her exams are very thorough. She reminds me of Dr William Hoggard. He was the first doctor that I had fifty years ago and stayed with him until he passed. I have referred my entire family to Dr Butler and others in her practice that are exceptional as well. The experience was typical. However, when I have blood work completed, I want a comprehensive workup. My goal is to maintain a well balanced body (pressure, glucose, vitamins, testosterone levels, etc).I had to return for blood work within a two week down because I wanted information about my blood work that was not a part of the initial results.

I was concerned with my weight gain, the provider listened to my concerns and offered advice to follow, and suggested a new medicine that could possibly help with the weight gain since I am prediabetic.

I was very emotional on my last visit because I am currently going through a divorce. Dr. Butler and the nursing staff were very professional and compassionate to me. I'm always pleased with my visits to this office. Everyone is professional, pleasant and easy to talk to. I never have questions about my health after leaving a visit unless it's about something that needs to be checked first. X-Rays, bloodwork, etc. I don't think I've ever had a better experience with any other doctors and their staff.

Dr. Lynn Butler is a board-certified primary care provider practicing at Internal Medicine of Elizabeth City, part of Chesapeake Regional Medical Group. She earned her osteopathic medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Stratford, NJ. Dr. Butler completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut in Farmington, CT. She has previously served as the chief hospitalist at Sentara Albemarle Medical Center in Elizabeth City, NC, and has worked as a hospitalist at Vidant Medical Group and a primary care provider at Tarheel Internal Medicine. Dr. Butler is ACLS certified and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine.
