CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Amy E. Schultz, PharmD, BCCCP Director of Pharmacy at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, has been elected to a 3-year term as a delegate from Virginia to the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) House of Delegates.
The House of Delegates is the ultimate authority over ASHP professional policies, to carry out the Society's stance on important issues related to health-system pharmacy practice and medication use. As a delegate, Schultz is one of about 200 ASHP leaders who have the responsibility to establish healthcare policy.
ASHP represents the collective voice of pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory clinics, and other healthcare settings spanning the full spectrum of medication use. The organization’s 58,000 members include pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. For 80 years, ASHP has been at the forefront of efforts to improve medication use and enhance patient safety.
