Foundation Gala Celebrates Mardi Gras and Raises Funds for Mother/Baby Unit Renovations

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – The Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation hosted its annual fundraising Gala, a highly anticipated event with dinner, dancing and music, on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 6p.m. to midnight at the Chesapeake Conference Center.  The event is presented by Towne Bank and Towne Insurance. Proceeds from the Mardi Gras themed Gala will benefit Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s Mother Baby Unit renovations and the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation Endowment.

During this year’s black-tie and themed event, the Foundation raffled two grand prizes, a four-night all-inclusive stay in New Orleans for Mardi Gras 2020 or a two-night stay at the luxurious Salamander Resort & Spa in historic Middleburg, Va.

This year’s Gala will help provide funding for the renovations planned at Chesapeake Regional’s Mother Baby Unit. Improvements will bring family centered care, create a spa-like atmosphere with natural healing elements and larger postpartum rooms. Each year net proceeds from the annual annual event provide substantial support to help fund program and equipment needs at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare.

Over the years, the Gala has funded projects like creating the Neuro Interventional Suite which opened in November of 2019. It has also funded several department renovations and new equipment and technology to deliver the most advanced and innovative health care to the community.
