Patient Care Team
Brian S. Buchberg, M.D.
Dr. Brian S. Buchberg, a board-certified colorectal surgeon, received his medical degree, as well as a Master of Science degree in biomedical sciences, from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. He completed a general surgery residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Calif. He then went on to complete a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Ore.
As a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, Dr. Buchberg treats a wide variety of colorectal conditions with a special interest in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids and anal fistulas. Additionally, he has extensive training in minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of benign and malignant colorectal diseases. Dr. Buchberg is a member of both the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons as well as the American College of Surgeons.
Beth R. Jaklic, M.D.
Dr. Beth R. Jaklic, a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, received her medical degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. She completed her general surgery residency at National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and her colon and rectal surgery fellowship at University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. A retired U.S. Navy captain, Dr. Jaklic was twice recognized as one of the top five surgeons in the Navy for patient satisfaction.
During her career, Dr. Jaklic has held academic posts at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. and Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Va. Dr. Jaklic is board-certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons as well as the American College of Surgeons. She specializes in the treatment of all disorders of the colon and rectum, including colon cancer, inflammatory bowel diseases and anorectal disorders.
Ray T. Ramirez, M.D.
A board-certified colon and rectal surgeon, Dr. Ray T. Ramirez received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va., and his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va. He completed his general surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.,and his colon and rectalsurgeryfellowship at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans.
Dr. Ramirez is board-certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons as well as the American College of Surgeons . Dr. Ramirez specializes in surgery of the small intestine, colon and rectum .
