Creating and Sustaining A Culture of Excellence

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare has attained Magnet Recognition®. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)  awarded Chesapeake Regional Healthcare Magnet Recognition in 2024, with two exemplars, for its performance above and beyond what is expected during the Magnet journey. This recognition is the highest national honor for nursing excellence and is a reflection of Chesapeake Regional's nursing professionalism, teamwork and superior patient care.

With this credential, Chesapeake Regional joins the global community of Magnet-recognized organizations that just a small, and select group of U.S. health care organizations have achieved. The ANCC’s  Magnet Recognition Program® distinguishes organizations that meet rigorous standards. It is recognized as the gold standard of nursing excellence. The process is thorough and lengthy, and it demands widespread participation throughout the organization.

The Magnet Recognition Program offers organizations like ours an opportunity for high nursing staff engagement and satisfaction. We have created a framework for nursing excellence by encouraging and empowering nurses to create high levels of job satisfaction, benefiting the organization and delivering patient-centered care with excellent outcomes.
