CHESAPEAKE, Va. –  After a three-year hiatus due to heightened COVID protocols, Chesapeake Regional Medical Center is once again hosting volunteer handlers and their certified therapy dogs, known as Welcome Waggers. The therapy dog teams are now available to provide companionship and help improve the emotional wellbeing of people throughout the hospital.
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake Regional Healthcare and Cigna Healthcare have reached mutually agreed upon terms regarding reimbursement rates and services. The newly negotiated contract allows members covered by Cigna Healthcare’s employer-sponsored insurance plan to receive services at all Chesapeake Regional Healthcare locations and practices. The new two-year agreement is effective through July 31, 2025. The two parties have been negotiating terms since January.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. –  After a successful survey, the American College of Cardiology has recognized Chesapeake Regional Medical Center for its demonstrated expertise and commitment in treating patients with chest pain. Chesapeake Regional was awarded Chest Pain Center Accreditation with Primary PCI (Percutaneous Coronary Intervention) in August based on rigorous onsite evaluation of the staff’s ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients who may be experiencing a heart attack.
CHESAPEAKE Va. - Today the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation hosted its annual Bra-ha-ha® 5K on Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s campus. Approximately 600 runners attended this morning’s event. Net proceeds will provide screening mammograms and breast health services for uninsured and underinsured people throughout Hampton Roads.
