Bra-ha-ha® 5K Helps Fund Mammograms and Supports Breast Cancer Awareness

CHESAPEAKE Va. - Today the Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation hosted its annual Bra-ha-ha® 5K on Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s campus. Approximately 600 runners attended this morning’s event. Net proceeds will provide screening mammograms and breast health services for uninsured and underinsured people throughout Hampton Roads.

Children, seniors, breast cancer survivors and supporters enjoyed the course and a variety of vendors, including The Garage Brewery. Everyone who registered received a race T-shirt, medal, and swag bag.
First place trophies were awarded to: 
•    Men’s category – Shawn Marek of Chesapeake
•    Women’s category – Ashleigh Kennedy of Smithfield
•    12 & under – Brennan Marek of Chesapeake

The Bra-ha-ha Awards Show & Auction, an annual bra decorating contest, will be held on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, from 6-9 p.m., at The Delta Hotels by Marriott - Chesapeake, 725 Woodlake Dr., in Chesapeake.

The community is encouraged to design a bra that tells a story, shares an inspiration, or simply shows creativity! Anyone can enter – groups, businesses, or individuals. Registration at Brahaha.org is open through Sept. 22.
