Oncology Rehabilitation is a specialized clinical practice that helps cancer patients repair and strengthen their bodies during and after cancer treatment to maintain independence. When patients go through cancer treatment, they may become weak, fatigued and less active. Our rehabilitation program will help address those concerns.
We believe that using a team approach is the best way to assist in a patient’s recovery. Not only are we able to treat a variety of cancers concerning the breast, head and neck, prostate and lungs, we also offer Occupational and Speech Therapy. By communicating closely with each care provider, we’re able to create a treatment plan that best fits each patient’s needs.
Receiving Care
Regain Your Independence
New patients will receive a thorough evaluation by a licensed therapist. The initial appointment, as well as follow up appointments, will take approximately one hour. An oncology-certified therapist will guide your care.
Depending on a patient’s symptoms and level of impairment, therapists may suggest a variety of techniques.
Some common therapies include:
- Therapeutic exercises—specifically designed for cancer patients
- Manual therapy—lymphedema management, myofascial, release technique and/or pain control
- Gait and balance training
- Scar management
All therapy is conducted in our 8,000 square foot outpatient facility and fully-equipped gym. We accept all insurance providers and obtain pre-approval before evaluating outpatients.
