Dr. Claire Carman To Discuss Importance of Mammograms & Genetics

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake Regional Healthcare will host a discussion, in partnership with the American Cancer Society, about why mammograms and genetics are important to breast health. The event will be held on Thursday, June 29, from 4-5 p.m. at the Lifestyle Health & Fitness Center, located at 800 Battlefield Blvd., North, in Chesapeake.
Dr. Claire Carman, a board-certified general surgeon specializing in breast care, is highly regarded for her skill, advocacy and vast knowledge. She has been in practice for more than 30 years, and will discuss why scheduling mammograms regularly is critically important to overall health. She will also explain the role of genetics when considering a person’s risk for breast cancer.

Dr. Carman is part of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s breast care team. She treats high-risk patients at Lynnhaven Breast Care, a new hereditary cancer and high-risk cancer clinic, located at 596 Lynnhaven Parkway, in Virginia Beach.
