The Cornerstone of Diabetes Management
Diabetes is a group of diseases characterized by high levels of blood glucose resulting from defects in insulin production, insulin action or both. Diabetes can be associated with serious complications and premature death, but people with diabetes can take steps to control the disease and lower the risk of complications.
If you're looking to continue your diabetes education, enroll in Diabetes University. This three-part program is taught by an interdisciplinary team of health care professionals and is open to all adults with diabetes and their families. Topics include nutrition, diabetes management, foot care, complications, medications, community resources and more. Most insurance companies will cover the cost. We offer a morning class and an evening class for your convenience.
Our educators are Registered Nurses and Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are experts in diabetes and other related conditions. They will provide you with education and support to help manage your diabetes to prevent complications. Together, you will work to identify goals and devise a plan to reach them.
