Sue did an excellent job with my assessment and heard an existing, but not always audible heart murmur. She knows my husband is a cardiologist and suggested that I hydrate and then see if he could still hear it. It turns out that I have an aortic valve issue that I may not have dealt with until I was symptomatic. I am very grateful that Sue is such an excellent practitioner

She is the most compassionate healthcare provider I have ever seen on a regular basis. This was an emergency appointment I felt and her nurse Shelby and the front desk staff were able to provide me with emergency care with very short notice. She will be my primary care physician as long as she practices medicine.

A board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience in primary care, Sue Whitehurst-Doss, FNP, RCN, MSN, ADM earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and her Master of Science degree as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner from Old Dominion University, in Norfolk, Va. She has worked throughout the Hampton Roads region during her career. Sue is adept at managing patients with complex medical conditions as well as providing preventative care and education. Her clinical skills include diabetes management, optimizing cardiovascular risk, addressing metabolic syndrome, and helping to promote better health. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center; a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association.
