Dr. Rahman is a skilled, board-certified general surgeon with more than 35 years of surgical experience. He began his tenure at Chesapeake Regional as a consultant surgeon and has served as both the Chief of Surgery and President of the Chesapeake Regional Medical Staff. Named a Coastal Virginia Top Doc, Dr. Rahman specializes in complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery.
He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Chesapeake Medical Society and the Virginia Surgical Society. Dr. Rahman earned his medical degree from the University of Kerala in Trivandrum, India, completed a residency in general surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wis. and a fellowship teaching general surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Va.
