Dr. Patel has always been attentive, concerned, and proactive in his treatment of me. He hasn't just put me in a box or category he works to diagnose my problem, something missing in a lot of our medical providers now days. His nurse and staff couldn't be nicer or more attentive.

Definitely would recommend Dr. Patel!!! However, I almost cancelled this appointment after the LACK of response from staff when I scanned and emailed in all the paperwork prior to appointment. Especially when the paperwork stressed (aka threatened) that if records and these forms weren't brought in PRIOR to appointment the appointment would be CANCELLED! When I send in paperwork via email I asked in the email that they would let me know all forms were received and accepted. Nothing. Resend another message requesting confirmation that they had received forms. CRICKETS!!! I finally had to CALL the office to find out. Unacceptable. Communication is KEY!!

I have been seeing Dr. Patel for a very long time. He listens to me and addresses my concerns, He has been excellent in handling my health and migraines. If not for him, I wouldn't have known I had brain aneurysms. Ursula always has a smile on her face and puts me at ease during my appointments. I look forward to seeing her during my appointments and feel she is a real asset to this office. She gives excellent customer service and medical care. I love that the staff up front always know who I am when I walk in. They are always smiling and helpful with any needs,

The check in clerk did not, as usual, even lookup during check which made me feel that I wasn't important. My actual time spent with my Dr was not productive at all. Nothing about ways to improve my quality of care. I have been doing the same thing when I go. I'm not getting any information of how to make my condition better or told there is so way to achieve relief. Although my Dr. Has a wonderful bedside manner, very kind and makes me feel comfortable, I'm not confident in my care. I have been considering changing Dr's.

I was referred to Dr. Patel by my family doctor, Dr. Ramstad. From the beginning of my visit, I was greeted with the utmost respect and kindness. Kathy, Debbie, and April have been overseeing my appointment needs for over 30 years for Dr. Ramstad, so I must start with them! Now, I am seeing Dr. Patel, one of Dr. Ramstad's fellow associates, who oversees my neurological needs. To answer the question: Dr. Patel is kind, attentive to my questions, and thorough in determining the best plan for my medical concerns. I have the utmost respect for all my Chesapeake Regional Healthcare professionals, and I feel blessed to have them taking care of me.

This doctor is rude, he doesn't listen to my concerns. He didn't have the slightest interest in seeking a diagnosis, he implemented it made me waste months to say that he doesn't have a diagnosis. It is arrogant. His only interest was to prescribe me antidepressants. I definitely wouldn't recommend it even to my worst enemy. I feel very sorry for people who trust their health to a doctor like this. This doctor does not see us as patients, he sees us as customers, he is nothing more than a businessman who fills his pockets at the expense of people's health.

The doctor couldn't bring it my Labs from Dr da Zhang or my endocrinologist. It would of been helpfulDr Patel was going to order some Labs but I just had those Labs done. So having them to see , he would not need to order.

After learning that I had fallen off a horse the Dr was quick to order an MRI while completely ignoring my complaint about an intense fiery extending from my elbow to my left thumb. At the time of this writing the pain has subsided however my thumb feels numb and has limited movement. After my MRI results are obtained, I will be changing neurologist.

There is a language barrier I believe. He is a very pleasant provider. I don't feel like he listens to me or I don't understand how this process works. The treatment for my neuropathy is not working. As I do NOT want an increase in medication, I want something the control it better even if I keep suffering I will try anything to keep it from getting worse. The 2 medications I take have provided me with less tears and helps to manage somewhat but days like yesterday I had what felt like electrical zaps and pain I couldn't figure what to do. He only says to keep taking meds. They aren't working and I am willing to try anything.

Bio
Board-certified in neurology, Dr. Mrugendra Patel offers a wealth of experience in nerve conduction studies and epilepsy, stroke, headaches, Parkinson’s disease, dementia and peripheral neuropathy. He earned bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery in Gujarat, India and performed a medical internship and residency in India before moving to New York where he completed a residency in psychiatry at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in Queens Village, NY. He continued with a residency in Neurology at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, NY where he was appointed chief resident. His fellowship in electrodiagnosis was also completed at Nassau County Medical Center before moving to Virginia. Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Medical Society of Virginia and the American Association of Physicians from India. He is fluent in English, Gujarati and Hindi.
