Diabetes Prevention

Diabetes Prevention

Prediabetes is common—but it does not have to become type 2 diabetes. If you have been told you have prediabetes, have a family history of diabetes, or are concerned about your risk, our free Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) can help you take control of your health.

What Is Prediabetes?

Prediabetes means your blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not yet high enough for a diabetes diagnosis. Many people with prediabetes have no symptoms and may not realize they are at risk.

Without action, prediabetes can progress to type 2 diabetes. The good news: lifestyle changes can make a major difference.

Our Diabetes Prevention Program follows the evidence-based curriculum developed through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Diabetes Prevention Program.

This year-long lifestyle change program is designed to help participants:

  • Lose a modest amount of weight
  • Increase physical activity
  • Build healthier eating habits
  • Reduce stress and improve coping skills
  • Create lasting routines that support long-term health
  • Lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes

Participants receive education, support, accountability, and encouragement from trained lifestyle coaches.

Proven Results

Research shows the Diabetes Prevention Program works.

  • Participants reduced their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58% overall.
  • Adults age 60+ reduced their risk by 71%
  • Benefits were still seen 10 years later, with participants remaining significantly less likely to develop diabetes.
  • Those who developed diabetes delayed its onset by about 4 years

For many people, lifestyle change has been shown to be more effective than medication alone.

Many people know what they should do—but making changes alone can be difficult. Our program helps turn goals into habits with:

  • Supportive Group Environment
    • Connect with others working toward the same goals.
  • Practical Nutrition Guidance
    • Learn realistic strategies for meals, grocery shopping, portion control, and healthier choices.
  • Movement That Fits Your Life
    • You do not need to become an athlete. Even walking regularly can make a meaningful difference.
  • Accountability & Motivation
    • Regular sessions help you stay on track and keep progressing.
  • Lasting Change
    • This is not a quick fix—it is a sustainable approach to better health.
