Chesapeake Regional Healthcare names Donna Runyan as Chief Human Resources Officer

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Donna Runyan recently joined Chesapeake Regional Healthcare as Chief Human Resources Officer. She has over 30 years of human resources leadership experience spanning multiple industries including health care, financial services, staffing services, insurance and construction. 

Runyan grew up in Silicon Valley and spent 20 years of her career working within the highly regulated California employment environment. While there, she held a unique executive position with the San Jose franchise of Manpower, Inc., leading the HR and payroll functions for over 10,000 employees and developing HR outsourced solutions for some of today’s largest technology and manufacturing firms. 

In 2008, Runyan relocated to Virginia and transitioned to the health care industry in 2013. Prior to joining Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, she was Vice President of Human Resources at Sentara Healthcare and most recently, Centra Health, in Lynchburg, Va.

Runyan earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s in Healthcare Administration. She is mother to three grown daughters, enjoys volunteering in the community, spending time with friends and family and home improvement projects.
