With MyLab, patients are able to order a variety of diagnostic tests without a physician's order. Tests such as cholesterol, glucose and Vitamin D screenings help you keep track of your health in between visits to the doctor's office and at times that are convenient for you.

1. Do I need an appointment to use My Lab?
No, appointments are not necessary. Simply bring your order form to the Diagnostic Center of Chesapeake any time during normal business hours.
2. Where do I go for My Lab?
My Lab is located at the Diagnostic Center of Chesapeake, on the first floor of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center's W. Stanley Jennings Outpatient Center.
3. What are the DCC's hours?
The Diagnostic Center of Chesapeake is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
4. When and how do I get my results?
Your results will be mailed to your house within approximately one week of testing. Your results will not be sent to your physician. It is your responsibility to share your results with your physician.
5. Will my insurance be billed for My Lab testing?
Insurance does not cover My Lab testing. Payment will be required at the time of service. The DCC accepts cash, checks and credit cards.
6. What do my results mean?
Your results will be compared to normal ranges based on factors such as age and gender. You are strongly encouraged to discuss your individual results with your physician.
7. Do I need to fast for any of these tests?
Do not eat or drink anything but water for approximately eight to 12 hours prior to your test if you are getting screened for cholesterol, glucose or lipid profile. Fasting is not required for any other test.
