U.S. News & World Report Names Chesapeake Regional Among Best Hospitals for 2024-2025

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake Regional Medical Center has received several honors in the recently released 2024-2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings and ratings. The hospital is named high-performing for 7 adult procedures and conditions including Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Stroke, Kidney Failure, Colon Cancer Surgery, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and Pneumonia. Additionally, it is among the top 15 hospitals in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

“High Performing” is the highest award a hospital can earn for U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings and reflects performance in the top decile in the nation. It signifies that a procedure or condition is in the top 10-20% nationally.

To calculate the Best Hospitals rankings, U.S. News evaluated each hospital’s performance on objective measures such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and level of nursing care. The Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings methodology measures patient outcomes using data from millions of records provided by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. They are designed to assist patients and their health care providers make informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
