The MAT program is administered by Medical Home Plus under contract with the Virginia Department of Social Services for training of best practice medication administration to child day program providers for ages infant through high school. Classes taught at the Lifestyle Center by a registered nurse. A three-year certification is issued upon successful completion.MAT First Renewal classes and group classes available as needed on request.
Course instruction includes the business side of babysitting, marketing yourself, accident prevention, handling emergencies, age-appropriate toys and activities, bathing and diapering, feeding infants, toddler care, behavioral characteristics for young children and introduction to CPR and first aid for choking.

Cancer patients, survivors, friends, family, and caregivers are invited to attend a series of presentations to find support and interact with people who have similar, first-hand experiences with cancer. Chesapeake Regional Healthcare sponsors a breast cancer support group open to newly diagnosed women as well as survivors. At the Breast Friends meetings, women comfort, encourage, and honor their courageous journey to fight cancer. They share concerns and exchange information while health care professionals speak on topics of interest. The group is facilitated by a breast cancer survivor and an oncology nurse. Location: Lifestyle Health & Fitness CenterDate & Time: 1st Thursday of every month, from 5:30-7 p.m.
