Dr. Kelsey Williams Joins the Breast Center

CHESAPEAKE – Kelsey Williams, M.D., will join The Breast Center at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare as a full-time breast surgeon beginning Monday, Sept. 10, 2018. Williams will practice with Chesapeake Surgical Specialists, part of Chesapeake Regional Medical Group. 

Williams completed her breast surgery fellowship at the Barbara Brodsky Comprehensive Breast Center at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pa. and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. She earned her medical degree from the Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, Va. and completed her general surgery residency at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute in Roanoke, Va. where she was selected as the General Surgery Administrative Chief. A member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, American Society of Breast Surgeons and American College of Surgeons, Williams has completed research regarding the role of sentinel lymph node biopsy in breast cancer patients undergoing mastectomy and those suffering from lymphedema following surgery for breast cancer.

In her spare time, Williams enjoys volunteering and has mentored at-risk youth, participated in building a community garden and educated families on nutrition. She has also worked in international medical missions. As a native of Hampton Roads, she is excited to help lead efforts to support local families affected by breast cancer.

Williams will practice at Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s Breast Center, 844 Battlefield Blvd., North, Suite 100 as well as the high-risk clinic located in Suffolk at 5849 Harbour View Blvd., Suite 250.
