Fight for Chesapeake Regional

As a patient with Anthem health insurance, you should not have to pay more out-of-pocket to see your trusted doctors at the locations that are convenient for you, and Chesapeake Regional should not have to accept unfair payments from Anthem that do not cover the cost of providing patient care. Anthem pays Chesapeake Regional 25% less than other area hospitals for the same services.

For a vaginal delivery and c-section, we receive $9,652 for either delivery type and nearby hospitals receive on average $11,106 and $14,571, respectively. Another hospital in our area is paid twice more than we are for open heart procedures. This list goes on.

As a not-for-profit community hospital with your best interest at heart, we will not accept this discriminatory treatment of our organization, or – most importantly – Anthem’s attempt to limit choices and healthcare access for our patients.
