Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation Gala Returns: 2022 Proceeds to Support New Critical Care Tower

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – After postponing the event numerous times during 2021 and early 2022 due to the pandemic, Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation’s annual fundraising Gala, a highly anticipated evening with dinner, dancing and music was held tonight. Proceeds from this year’s black tie and Tropical Island themed event, held at the Chesapeake Conference Center, and presented by Towne Bank, Towne Insurance and Dominion Power, will benefit Chesapeake Regional Healthcare’s Critical Care Tower.

The new Critical Care Tower, being built above Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s current structure, will house intensive care units and technology to care for critical care patients. The new tower is strategically designed to follow a patient’s progression from critical care to a step-down unit and will include a telemetry stroke unit.

“It’s rewarding to finally be able to celebrate this long-awaited event,” said Reese Jackson, President & CEO of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare. “We worked hard during the pandemic and are grateful for the support of our sponsors and community,” he added. “The past two years have demonstrated our ability to treat and safeguard patients and the public when disaster strikes. With design input from our nurses, new technology and specific features to improve delivery, the new Critical Care Tower will enhance the way we provide acute care.”

Chesapeake Regional Health Foundation has been hosting an annual Gala for two decades. Proceeds have funded significant programmatic and equipment needs over the years.

The evening’s festivities included a raffle for an all-inclusive St. James’s Club Morgan Bay, St. Lucia vacation for two and a Williamsburg Weekend Getaway for two at the Williamsburg Lodge. Long’s Jewelers sponsored a Diamond Raffle.
