Chesapeake Regional Healthcare Recognized As One Of The 50 Most Community-Minded Companies In Hampton Roads

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Chesapeake Regional Healthcare has been named an honoree of The Civic 50 Hampton Roads by VOLUNTEER Hampton Roads and Points of Light, the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. The award recognizes Chesapeake Regional as one of the most community-minded companies in Hampton Roads, determined by an independently administered and scored survey.

The Civic 50 Hampton Roads initiative, modeled after Points of Light's national program, provides a standard for superior corporate citizenship and showcases how companies can use their time, skills, and resources to drive social impact in their company and communities.

Reese Jackson, President & CEO of Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, is honored to receive this recognition. “Chesapeake Regional was born through grassroots efforts to get the health care area residents deserved,” said Jackson. “Today, that same community spirit drives everything we do. That's why we support local events like Juneteenth celebrations, build houses with Habitat for Humanity, and bring our Mobile Health Clinic to underserved neighborhoods. We've also established a Behavioral Health Unit in our Emergency Department to address critical and growing mental health needs.”

Chief Human Resources Officer Donna Runyan agrees, “Chesapeake Regional offers something special in today's health care landscape: authentic community partnership backed by measurable action. Our Civic 50 Hampton Roads recognition validates what our community already knows—we don't just provide health care; we invest our time, skills, and leadership to address the social and economic factors that impact the health of our region.”

The Civic 50 Hampton Roads survey is administered by True Impact, a company specializing in helping organizations maximize and measure their social and business value, and consists of quantitative and multiple-choice questions that inform the scoring process.
