Great experience. Was expecting tests not medical consultation. All put me at ease. Renee and her assistant understood my feelings and took the time to explain all to me and were able to sets tests and appointment with doctor In a reasonable timeframe . Renee is awesome!

The wait for the mammogram was almost an hour. The person apologized and stated they were short staff. Once I finished the test, I was given my results and met with NP Oxley which is convenient. I am grateful for the staff but not having enough employees is not a good look for Chesapeake Regional Healthcare.

All the professionals I met with on 11/27/24 was professional, helpful, smiling and eager to assist and help / from registration to Diamond (assistant to Renee) and Renee Olexy herself. In addition my mammo tech, Audra, was so caring, friendly and so reassuring as well as Jessica, ultrasound Tech Each one made me feel confident I was getting the best care during a stressful time.

Dr. Renee Olexy is an excellent doctor who always opens the door with a smile on her face, a caring attitude, shows genuine interest in how I am doing, and I never feel rushed. To be honest she makes me smile just seeing her and I always feel inspired to try to get my health in a better shape every time I leave an appointment with her. She is truly an asset to your office and I hope the office appreciates her as much as I do!

I have seen NP Renee twice following my bilateral mastectomy. She Is very thorough and thoughtful when answering all my questions. I did not feel rushed during our appointments. All the staff are very friendly and take their time with me.

My last visit was very frustrating as I waited for more than an hour before I got called in to be seen. I was told later that it was a very busy day for them. The provider apologized. But the thing is that my sister took time off from her job to take me to my appointment, and it made her one hour late getting back to her job. Hope this won't happen again.

I felt very well taken care of at this appointment. I was comfortable from the moment I walked in, and did not feel nervous at all like I usually do at other doctor's appointments. All of my concerns were addressed and a proper care plan was put in place that left me which so much reassurance regarding my health. Everyone was friendly and efficient, so much so that it didn't even feel like a doctors appointment. I look forward to continuing my care here and would recommend to people I know!

The np I saw didn't listen to anything I said. My pcm Dr Manning told me I had a complex cyst and wanted me to get it checked because I've had issues with my breast's for years. I've been asked numerous times by mammogram and ultrasound tech why I don't get the huge cysts aspirated. I say that because no one wants to do it. This np told me that even though I have issues I can still function normally and when the cysts make it so I can't put my arm down to call and she will aspirate it. I definitely didn't feel heard. The only thing she wanted to do was new genetic testing.

This appointment was to discuss my genetic testing I had done. The doctor was personable, knowledgeable, patient and respectful. She reviewed my test results, explained the options that were available and did a breast exam. I chose to start with the conservative route for now.

Although I feel that my concerns were heard, I'm not sure if I clearly conveyed my preference to have additional testing done on a cyst cluster that at this point per the notes of the radiologist do not warrant concern. I feel that my concern is very warranted considering my medical history with cancer.

Bio
Ms. Olexy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Misericordia University in Dallas, Penn., and a Masters in Nursing with a Women’s Health specialty from Drexel University, in Philadelphia. She has vast experience diagnosing and treating women at every stage in life. Ms. Olexy previously worked with both Delta Oncology and The Breast Care Center in Portsmouth and as a surgical nurse in various specialties including vascular, gynecological, breast and plastics. She is a member of the Virginia Association of Nurse Practitioners.
