Dr. Rahman was excellent with his diagnosis and the surgery he performed on me. However, during the follow-up appointment, the receptionist was very unprofessional. I signed in at 9:25 a.m. for a 9:30 appointment, but they failed to check me in and marked me as a no-show. They only called me back after my wife and I informed them that we had been waiting for an hour.

I had gone to my GP's office after getting up and having sharp cramps in the abdominal area. After being examined he scheduled a CAT scan at CGRH for the next afternoon. It showed a large gallstone. My GP referred me to CG Surgical team. As soon as I walked in I was impressed with the staff. When Dr. Rahman came in the exam room, he put me at ease about the surgery right away, explaining everything that I could expect. I have been ill very few times in my adult life other than migraines and flu. I was nervous about having surgery at first but he and his staff were extremely reassuring. I left knowing that everything was going to be fine.

Dr. Rahman is lovely! He explained things well, listened intently, and answered all my questions. He was extremely nice and very respectful. He is a wonderful doctor!

First time seeing Dr. Rahman. Some of the questions seemed to apply mainly to physicians that are seen regularly. After my surgery and follow up I may never see him again.

I waited for 3+ hours after the scheduled surgery time without anyone coming and explaining the situation. Also, I feel like he two nurses were scape-goated as hey were the only one I could vent my frustrations to; pain meds were not very effective. Anesthesiologist did a great job.
All in all, not too bad. Three hours, without someone letting me know what's going on, is in my opinion, an unacceptable level of service, by "professionals." Attempts should be made for better communication in the future. Surgeries are already stressful without going extended amounts of time without eating or drinking and surgical anticipation. Comfort meds could have been provided for anxiety. No pain killers were given either. Pain level is too high for that, for most people. Why do I have to tall "pros" any of this?

So far so good. All staff helpful & knowledgeable. Service was provided way sooner than expected. Staff was on the call backs too. Exceptional job thus far.

The doctor was very personable but his lack of knowledge regarding the type of _____ that I needed removed and negative remark regarding the surgeon that did my previous surgery and retired from your network was alarming, therefore, I canceled my surgery with Dr. Rahman. I just don't feel he is the surgeon for me.

The general experience with provider was good. The issue I had was the lack of communication with my PCP who is affiliated with Sentara Health Group. This lack of communication resulted in an extra two months of daily severe pain.

Very pleased with Dr. Tahman and his staff. My surgery presented an unexpected challenge. Dr. Rahman with his long experience as a surgeon was able to successfully complete the operation.
