Chesapeake Regional Holds Baby Expo 2024
CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Baby Expo 2024, held on Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the Main Lobby of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, offered new and expectant moms and their families useful tools and resources to navigate early parenthood.
The hospital's lobby was transformed with experts offering services to complement pregnancy, birth, postpartum care, and early childhood development. From insurance needs, pediatricians, and OB/GYNs to car seat safety, infant CPR, and daycare options, attendees left with valuable information.
The Mother-Baby Unit now features 36 enlarged spa-like rooms with enhanced amenities. Each room has a sleep sofa, newborn bathing sinks, feeding-friendly rocking gliders, plenty of lockable storage, in-room refrigerators, an electronic whiteboard, multiple USB ports, and a digital TV. Bathrooms feature lighted mirrors and a European shower. There are two satellite nurseries, centralized nursing stations, a multi-use patient education classroom, and a large family waiting room.
The fully renovated Level III NICU has new monitors and technology to provide critical care for newborns. There are 12 bays, a 2-bay Isolation room, a Milk room, feeding-friendly rocker gliders, frosted glass partitions for greater privacy, and a centralized nursing station.
