NAFC Names Chesapeake Regional Medical Center a Center of Excellence

Premier Pelvic Health Program recognized for exceptional care and patient satisfaction scores in treating men and women.

Chesapeake, Va.— Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, an acute care hospital operated by Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, was recently designated a Center of Excellence (COE) by the National Association for Continence (NAFC), recognizing the hospital’s dedication to serving the best interests of patients suffering from pelvic health concerns.

The COE designation was largely driven by the achievements of Dr. Jennifer Miles-Thomas and Dr. Rebecca Ryder who are both board-certified in Urology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology). The Pelvic Health Program at Chesapeake Regional includes Dr. Miles-Thomas and Dr. Ryder in addition to Dr. Beth Jaklic, a colorectal surgeon and Dr. John Liu, a urologist.

NAFC's COE program was established to recognize facilities that excel in providing bladder and bowel health care to patients and to assist consumers dealing with pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence issues as they search for an expert. The COE designation is based on evidence of training, clinical experience, resources and patient satisfaction statistics that meet established standards. These rigorous standards ensure that each center designated a COE is truly exceptional at providing care for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence.
