Collaborative COVID-19 Testing at MacDonald Manor Friday

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – The Urban League of Hampton Roads, Chesapeake Health Department, Chesapeake Regional Healthcare and community leaders have combined efforts to provide free COVID-19 testing for MacDonald Manor, 1331 MacDonald Rd, Chesapeake, VA 23325 on Friday, May 15 beginning at 10 a.m.
Testing and educating underserved communities about COVID-19 is a way to help prevent the spread. Organizers will test those with symptoms of the virus and those who are asymptomatic.

MacDonald Manor is a host site for what organizers anticipate being a model of collaboration for testing underserved neighborhoods throughout the city. Organizers will distribute food from the Southeastern Foodbank and provide information about discounts on Internet connectivity from Cox Communications while at the test site. They will also provide educational information about the need to wear a mask or face cover, how to physically distance, how to use good hand hygiene and when to get help if they think they are infected.
