Chesapeake Hospital Authority Awards $2,500 Scholarships

The Chesapeake Hospital Authority’s Scholarship Committee has selected the following ten students to each receive a $2,500 scholarship:

Briona Haslam                                    Western Branch High School

Kiyana Hires                                       Oscar Smith High School

Gabriella Palasthy                               Oscar Smith High School

Grace Rovenolt                                   Deep Creek High School

Kesha Shah                                         Deep Creek High School

Courtney Silvio                                   Currituck County High School

Kennedy Williams                               Grassfield High School

Alex Zeher                                         Hickory High School

The students have all been accepted into a college or university and plan to pursue a degree in health care. The Scholarship Committee considered the awardees based on their academic records, test results, character references, extra-curricular activities, community service, interest in the health care field and financial need. The recipients were presented with the scholarships and plaques at the annual scholarship dinner and meeting on June 25, 2015. 

The Chesapeake Hospital Authority is an 11-member board that oversees the governance of Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. The Chesapeake City Council makes all board appointments.
