Chesapeake Regional Medical Center earns #2 Regional Ranking and ‘High Performing’ Ratings from U.S. News in 11 Types of Care

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chesapeake Regional Medical Center earned a #2 regional ranking and a #11 statewide ranking, moving up one place in each. The medical center also has been named in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals edition as a High Performing hospital for 11 procedures and conditions — one more than in 2025-2026. “High Performing” is the highest distinction a hospital can earn in U.S. News’ Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.  

The high-performing procedures and conditions for CRMC include: 
•    Back Surgery (Spinal Fusion)
•    Hip Fracture
•    Pacemaker Implantation (new in 2026-2027)
•    Colon Cancer Surgery
•    Heart Failure
•    COPD
•    Heart Attack
•    Diabetes
•    Kidney Failure
•    Pneumonia
•    Stroke

Fewer than half of the thousands of hospitals evaluated earned a 'High Performing' designation in the types of care evaluated by U.S. News. U.S. News’ annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to assist patients and their health care providers in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or elective procedures.
