Jul 29, 2016

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare (CRH) has received the 2016 Women’s Choice Award® as one of America’s Best Breast Centers. This certified designation is the only award that identifies the country’s best breast centers based on rigorous criteria that considers female patient satisfaction and clinical excellence. This is the third consecutive year CRH has received this recognition.

CRH is among 450 other award winners that represent breast centers which have met the high standards of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). Each facility carries the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) seal from the American College of Radiology.

“It is an honor to receive this recognition for the third consecutive year. It reflects our commitment to provide innovative, quality care with a personal touch,” said Interim President & CEO, Alton Stocks, and M.D.  “Our Breast Center physicians and medical staff pride themselves on being equipped to offer the latest in treatment options with the most advanced technology available.”

Breast cancer is the second most common form of cancer among American women, according to the American Cancer Society. One in eight women in the U.S. will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.

“Whether it’s an annual mammogram or addressing a more serious concern, every woman deserves the best breast care and an opportunity to live a healthy life. By letting women know which breast centers in their area are among America’s best, we are able to reduce their risk by helping them make smarter healthcare choices,” says Delia Passi, CEO and Founder of the Women’s Choice Award.

CRH’s comprehensive breast program offers a breast cancer patient navigator, a radiology patient navigator and many other advanced breast care services all in one convenient location.
